catching up
Whew, i keep thinking the demands of teaching and life will slow down but it has been pretty crazy these past few weeks. This is probably a good thing because it means i am feeling good and going strong. I can't seem to get caught up with my grading of my students papers. I have been taking the approach that if i just ignore it, perhaps it will go away. (my students try this but it doesn't work for them either!) So far, the stack of papers just seems to be growing. Where is my grading fairy god-mother????? I went to a social studies conference tonight and got "wined and dined" at the Hyatt Hill country Resort. They did a short memorial for 9/11 and i am reminded about how lucky i am to have all the blessings in my life. My problems are minimal compared to the loss of that day. We sang the national anthem. Though i sing so off key, it still touches my heart and gives me goosebumps. I am so proud to be an American. Another three months and i will be bringing my daughter to this great country. I will teach her about the freedoms and liberties that so many have fought and died for. What a lucky little girl, what a lucky Mommy. Good night all. Thanks Katie for touching my very soul and being one of the reasons i love to teach.
