still flying high We are still so excited from about receiving our referral yesterday. We were exhausted last night when we finally made it to bed. Today we sent off our paperwork to say we would take the assigned baby and pledged on a written letter that we would be good parents. Man, if everybody had to do what we did to get this child, i don't think there would be so many babies! It appears our travel group is advocating to travel the day after Christmas instead of the 2nd of January. It sounds good to me. The sooner the better. It is not like the weather is going to change. (Gansu is one of the coldest areas of China!) There is a group of adoptive families getting ready to leave in a few days to the same province and welfare home. So we will soon be learning about the area and the trip from some experienced folks. Thanks everybody for sharing in our excitement.

Did you happen to see the most beautiful girl in the world?
Look at those checks! Can't wait to plant a kiss on those! We love our baby Jaden, isn't she great?
We are very proud parents today. It is with great pleasure that we share with you this picture of our beautiful daughter who is waiting for us in China. She's more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. We feel great joy to finally know the face of our baby. We can't wait to take the next step and finally hold her in our arms. That day can not come soon enough! We do not know when we will travel. We will push to go as soon as we can, but right now we just don't know.
ADOPTION UPDATE Good afternoon friends, I wanted to let you know that things are FINALLY starting to buzz regarding our adoption. I constantly monitor the various forums, emails, etc. for any hint of news. Finally I have some. It seems other people who had their adoption paperwork register with China last Sept. (as we did) are beginning to get calls from their adoption agencies with news of their babies. Our particular agency is having some trouble with email right now so we have not heard from them, but the odds are that they have received information from China and despite email problems they are working hard to verify the information on our baby before calling us (at least that is what I HOPE is going on!). At the very least we should have our referral (baby picture, birth date, physical stats, etc.) by the end of this week.
It is my sincere hope that the next post to this log will include a picture of our daugther, Jaden. Until then hang in there with us.
