It's a Jaden Update!

This information just in from our adoption agency, it is the translation of Jaden's (Wu Hao) medical records that were sent with her referral information two weeks ago. Here it is:

Parents: Johnson
Growth Information on Wu Hao

Wu Hao(meaning of her name: power and richness) is a little girl. She was
born on January 22, 2002. On February 2, 2002 she entered our institute. She
is a healthy and normal child. On February 2, 2002 Cai Ying, an employee of
our institute picked her up at the south entrance to Bachang, Panxuan Road,
Wuwei City. Then our doctors made a physical examination for her and
estimated that she should be born on January 22, 2002. Our institute
searched everywhere for her birth parents but could not find them. Later
Civil Affairs of Wuwei approved our institute to adopt her.
She has a sanguine complexion and delicate facial features. Since she came
to our institute she has been healthy without any serious diseases. Her
physical and intellectual development has been progressing well. At 2 months
old she could smile. At 4 months old she could laugh. At 5 months old she
could reach her hands out for objects and try to roll over. She is mainly on
formula, fresh milk and rice cereal. Her supplement includes juice, egg and
so on. She has 5 meals per day and takes her meals on schedule. She sleeps
about 13 hours per day. She prefers lying on back when sleeping. Now she can
snatch toys with other children. Sometimes she will seize the hands of other
children beside her and keep shaking their hands. She can hold her bottle
and feed herself well. She can pick up a nipple and put it into her mouth.
She likes playing outdoors in a baby carriage in the warm sunshine. She is
very curious about the world around her and always looks around with open
eyes. She seldom cries or has tantrums. She receives immunizations on
schedule and has received vaccines for HBV, DPT, BCG and OPV.

Wuwei Social Welfare Institute

What is interesting to note is that she was about 10 days old when she was found and brought to Wuwei SWI. I imagine that her parent(s) must have spent several days agonizing over whether they should keep her or give her up. I can not pretend to understand the presure and agony that would come with that situation. In the end, we are glad that she found her way to where she is now and we thank God that she was loved enough to be left in a place where she would be found easily. I think it is also good that her first few days were spent with someone who obviously loved her very much and who guided her through the first few days of her life. There is little chance that Jaden or us will ever know who this person is but whoever it is will always have a special place in my heart and I will forever be thankful to her for all she has done.

Monday, Monday
We had a nice relaxing weekend. I talked JE into doing the yard one last time. (hopefully!) We worked outside while Tait played with the neighborhood kids. JE watched the Longhorn game (in horror) and was not in a good mood in the evening. Tait and i met Melissa and the girls and Dr. Lopez for pizza . (i think we were there with at least 4 soccer teams celebrating their end of season!) We had a nice visit after things settled down. Sunday was church and hanging out at the house. I made it out to the soccer fields for our coed soccer game. It felt really good to see everyone and play a few minutes. This evening i get to check out the SBC center and see what the hype is all about. I am just looking forward to hanging out with some friends for a little. I hope the Spurs can perform!
