Life with a PICC line We had a great 4th of July with one exception...Dori's PICC line. It is kind of a pain to deal with. She takes great care to clean it and keep the kids from yanking it out of her arm. The problem is that she can't take a bath (shower is OK) and can't go swimming at all. This kind of limits her activities with the kids. Dori has always enjoyed going to the water park at Sea World or to the pool in the afternoons but now she can't do these things and it's just one of the little things that makes living with cancer/chemo tough. Plus she has complained about it hurting a little bit..and if Dori says it hurts it must be pretty painful as she rarely complains. But, as usual we are learning to live with (but not love) the PICC.
