Anew start We started the abraxane today. We are hoping it will be the wonder drug for me or at least slow down the growth in the liver. i read the medical insert and the big issues are low white count, naseua and runs, both of which go away after a few days. i also read that within 14-21 days i will experience alapecia. That is medical talk for every hair on your body will begin to fall out. It is time to pull down the hat box. At this point, i think i would trade hair for a normal stomach. i lost another two pounds this week. It is odd how my whole life i wanted to weigh less and now i am hoping to regain some of my lost pounds. Next week i will put some pennies in my pocket before i weigh at the doctors! Wonder Dad has taken the kids for a walk to the park for exercise and a Mom break. He is so awesome. We are closer to getting a boat but that will have to be another day. i will slip into a hot, quiet bath while i have the opportunity.

getting back i have not blogged in quite a while and i need to get back in the routine. My cpt 11 has been kicking my behind making me weak and tired, spending a great deal of time on the potty. With all that in mind and the fact that the cancer is still growing in the liver, we are starting a new drug Thursday called Abraxane. It was FDA approved in February and has been found to be successful in people like me. (those who have been on many agents and are presently not having success on other drugs) It is albumin (blood) based so it is supposed to be easier to tolerate for the body. We will see! It is an old drug really, it is just mixed differently. Thanks to all friends and family for another successful and fun filled Race for the Cure. I really appreciate the support on that day and every day.
