confirmed
The PET scan confirmed that the cancer has spread to the lungs. Dr K says that may be attributing to the my breathing problems as well as my general fatigue. Hmmmm...where to go from here...my cancer grows when i am on chemo so what is the point of suffering the side effects of the treatment if they are not doing any good? or is it working on the other areas where the cancer is growing?? the cancer on my skin has disappeared. just need prayers for peace with the decisions we make. We are going to escape to the lake for the weekend and do some soul searching.

long time
I have been in and out of the hospital with trouble breathing, dizziness and general fatigue in the past few weeks. Turns out it was PCP, a form of pnuemonia people with low immune systems get. After many tests, spots on my lungs we thought to be the PCP are not getting better after 21 days of intense antibiotics. Dr. Kapoor beleieves them to be the spread of the cancer. Tests will soon reveal the answer. We have started a new chemo called Avastin. It has not yet been proven effective in metastic breast cancer but has been successful in metastitic renal and colon cancers. Frankly, we don't have many other choices as this is my ninth agent to be on. Right now it does not seem so bad because i am taking it alone but the protocol calls for a chemo with the cocktail. Right now my body can't tolerate anything harsh as it is trying desperately to heal from the PCP. My poor body is taking longer than usual to get over this. i spent a week on the sofa or in bed, unable to really get up and do much else other than feed jaden but i was so glad to be out of the hospital and in my own bed with my own family. Thank goodness for family and friends because they have come thru once again in the help department. I am still having trouble with breathing and energy but am slowly getting stronger.
